Mike Pence Said to Have Told President Trump He “Lacks Power” to Reject Slates of Electors


Vice President Mike Pence is no longer expected to preside over the certification of the electoral college votes on Wednesday, according to a statement by Senate president pro tempore Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

Grassley has said that he expects to handle the proceedings with Pence being absent, and he will keep an open mind:

Grassley said he will listen to debate and that “it would be really wrong for me to say I have my mind made up.”
