Mexico Elects Its First Ever Woman President

Mexico has elected its first-ever woman president.

Former mayor of Mexico City and environmentalist scientist Claudia Sheinbaum has been elected as Mexico’s next president.

With the majority of votes already counted, Sheinbaum is projected to garner nearly 59% of teh vote.

Her closest competitor, Xóchitl Gálvez, finished with only 28% of the vote.

In a victory speech, Sheinbaum told a crowd of her supporters, “I will become the first woman president of Mexico.”

Congratulations to Claudia Sheinbaum, the first woman to be elected President of Mexico.

This is a victory for the people of Mexico, for social justice and for the future of our planet.
