Mel Gibson Writes Heartfelt Letter to Archbishop Carlo Viganò Following Excommunication by Pope Francis


Iconic actor and traditionalist Catholic Mel Gibson wrote a letter to Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò following his excommunication by Pope Francis.

The Vatican claimed Viganò was guilty of schism for his “refusal to recognize and submit to the Supreme Pontiff” and doubting the “legitimacy and magisterial authority of the Second Vatican Council.” As a result of his excommunication, Viganò will be denied the Eucharist and made into a pariah within his own church until he falls in line. Viganò has made it clear that will never be happening.

“I regard the accusations against me as an honor,” Viganò said defiantly.

Viganò’s bravery has earned the respect of Gibson, who is scheduled to release a much-anticipated sequel to “Passion of the Christ” in the near future.
