While Mayor Lightfoot has issued new proclamations announcing that partiers will be arrested for breaking social distancing measures, violence in Chicago continues to roar.
A 1-year-old baby boy was shot and killed in the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago.
His mother was grazed by the bullet, but is alive.
The mother and toddler were on their way home from the laundromat when a random car pulled up alongside them.
Someone inside the vehicle pulled out a gun, shooting the toddler once, killing him immediately.
Another shot was taken towards the mother, but the bullet grazed her.
While gun violence and the aftermath of protests continues to grip Chicago, Mayor Lightfoot is being criticized for threatening to arrest people partying on private property.
Meanwhile, observers say it appears that Lightfoot is continuing to ignore gun violence in the city.
