Math teacher accused of taking teen student home for sex found not guilty

A Georgia jury has acquitted Kara Coalson, a former math teacher, of sexually assaulting a teenage boy at her home in Athens, USA Today affiliate The Athens Herald Banner reports.

Kara Coalson, 25, had been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old student from the teacher’s geometry class.

Until her arrest on sexual assault charges, Kara Coalson was a teacher at Clarke Central High School. 

Coalson’s trial ran for three days in the Athens-Clarke County Superior Court.
