Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, launched another attack on former President Donald Trump on Monday morning in response to a brief statement from Trump about the 2020 election.
Trump cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election in a statement on Monday, saying that “from this day forth” it should be “known as THE BIG LIE!”
“The 2020 presidential election was not stolen,” Cheney responded in a tweet. “Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system.”
Over the past several months, Cheney has seemingly focused more on attacking her own party instead of focusing on opposing Democrat President Joe Biden’s far-left agenda. Cheney even refused in a recent interview to rule out running for president in 2024, which was met with widespread mockery.
