Kim Jong Un voices rare regret about ‘suffering’ in North Korea


Kim Jong Un apparently has a soft side.

The North Korean leader struck a rare note of empathy Wednesday when he cited the rogue regime’s failings during a visit to a typhoon-ravaged mining district, according to Nikkei Asia.

“We ought to feel deeply responsible for not knowing that people were suffering in such an unfit environment,” Kim said in South Hamgyong.

He lamented that homes dotting the mountainside “are the same as they were half a century ago,” according to the Korean Central News Agency.

Saying his “conscience wouldn’t allow it” if only the damaged homes would be rebuilt, the despot declared that an entire model city would be erected in their place.

Kim also displayed his emotions during Saturday’s military parade in Pyongyang to mark the 75th anniversary of the Hermit Kingdom’s founding as he thanked the masses for “zero” cases of the coronavirus.
