Jury Finds Former Top NBA Draft Pick Guilty Of Rape


Ben McLemore, a former top-10 NBA draft pick, was found guilty of raping a woman in 2021 while playing with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The former Kansas star was selected 7th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2013 NBA draft.

After 10 hours of deliberations following an 11-day trial, an Oregon jury found McLemore guilty of raping a woman at a party in Lake Oswego.

McLemore was found guilty of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and second-degree sexual abuse.

The 32-year-old was found not guilty on an additional count of second-degree sexual abuse.

He pled not guilty to all four counts.

McLemore’s sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th.
