Judge allows one DOGE employee access to Treasury data

In her ruling, Judge Jeannette A. Vargas said DOGE employee Ryan Wunderly can access the Treasury’s payment system and data systems as long as he completes training “typically required of other Treasury employees granted commensurate access” and submits a financial disclose report.

The new order from Vargas reverses a ban she kept in place nearly two months ago, which blocked all DOGE employees from accessing Treasury data while a case brought by 19 Democratic state attorneys general played out in court.

At that time, she argued that Treasury officials allowed two DOGE employees to access the payment system in a “rushed and ad hoc” manner that created a “realistic danger that confidential financial information will be disclosed.”
