J&J Settles First Talc Cancer Cases To Go To Trial After Failed Bankruptcies


Johnson & Johnson has settled two lawsuits claiming its talc products have caused cancer.

Talc is a “naturally occurring mineral, mined from the earth, composed of magnesium, silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen.”

The settlements cases stem from Rosalino Reyes and Marlin Eagles who said they got mesothelioma cancer “related to asbestos in J&J talc powder.”

Details regarding the settlement have not been made to the public and have been kept privately.

In total J&J faces more than 50,000 lawsuits over its talc products, mostly by women diagnosed ovarian cancer.
