A judo instructor in Japan violently punished two middle school students using martial arts techniques after they ate popsicle sticks without his permission — leaving one of the students with a spinal fracture, according to a report.
Takahiro Ueno, 50, who is the judo club advisor at Takarazuka Municipal Nagao Junior High School, was arrested Monday in connection to the alleged attack that left one of the students with a serious back injury, Japanese outlet The Mainichi reported.
He subjected the boys, aged 12 and 13, to a 30-minute assault — hitting them, throwing them to the ground and pinning them to the floor, the outlet reported.
One of the boys was allegedly placed in a chokehold that made him lose consciousness, prompting the instructor to slap him awake before pulling the same move again.
Ueno, who is also a teacher at the school, allegedly lost his temper when he learned the students ate the popsicles during their practice
