The path to a second impeachment of President Trump following the Capitol riots of his supporters has run into a roadblock: The Democrats’ schedule shows the chamber off through Inauguration Day.
The 2021 schedule shows that tomorrow is a non-voting session day and the rest of the time is designated as “District Work Period.”
What’s more, that’s followed on Jan. 18 with Martin Luther King Jr. Day and eventually the inauguration on Jan. 20. Ditto for the Senate.
Officials said that there has been no change in the schedule. Of course, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can change it. Still, it is unlikely that the GOP-controlled Senate would act.

Pelosi today joined with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to call for Trump’s ouster for “sedition.”
But they want Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to do it with the 25th Amendment, not through the impeachment process.
