House Republicans stand by Trump through difficult election legal battles


House Republicans remain loyal to President Trump as he maneuvers his way through legal disputes challenging several state boards of elections that called their respective races for his opponent, President-elect Joe Biden.

Trump met with Michigan Senate and House Republican leaders Friday to discuss the state’s 16 electoral votes that were awarded to Biden. The meeting happened just before Georgia certified its 16 electoral votes for Biden after a hand recount was completed.

Following a press conference Thursday at the Republican National Committee in which claims of voter fraud and ballot tampering were made by Trump legal team attorney Rudy Giuliani, GOP lawmakers continued to defend the process despite the uphill court battle the president faces.
