Glenn Close, Oscar-nominee for her role in the Hillbilly Elegy film based on Vice President-elect J.D. Vance‘s memoir, says she no longer recognizes the politician after playing his grandmother.
During an appearance on The View on Wednesday, she was asked by co-host Joy Behar about her portrayal of the incoming vice president’s grandmother.
“Speaking of vice presidents — in 2020, you played J.D. Vance’s mamaw, his grandmother, in Hillbilly Elegy, and the movie was based on his bestselling memoir. I remember him hawking it in the old days,” Behar said to Close, adding, “He even visited the set at the time.”
