Hillary Clinton, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph helped Sen. Kamala Harris, the running mate of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, raise more than $6 million for his campaign during a virtual fundraiser on Monday night.
Rudolph and Poehler, who have depicted Clinton and Harris, respectively, on Saturday Night Live, talked about their political skits. The four also addressed the California wildfires and the Affordable Care Act. Clinton, who ran an unsuccessful campaign for president in 2016, gave Harris advice and encouragement on how to handle the remainder of the campaign.
The women tried to keep the evening lighthearted, cracking jokes throughout the call.
After Poehler struggled to get her audio off mute, Clinton quipped, “I thought it was the Russians.”
Clinton, who announced the $6 million haul and an average donation under $30, also said 100,000 people participated in the event.
