Heavily armed shooting suspect caught in the Bronx after parking in bus lane


A Bronx cop who stopped a man in a Mercedes for parking in a bus lane found five guns on the driver, who is the suspected shooter in a separate attempted murder case, according to court documents and law-enforcement sources.

Tyrell Livingston, 27, had returned from Virginia the day before when he was pulled over with the weapons in the South Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, according to a criminal complaint.

Police were investigating if he had trafficked the handguns, four 9 millimeters and a .45-caliber pistol, including two brand new pieces that were still in their boxes, law enforcement sources said.

The surprise bust happened when Livingston was double parked in the bus lane in front of the Opera House Hotel on East 49th Street near Brook Avenue at about 12:40 p.m. when the cop stopped him and asked for his license, according to a criminal complaint.
