GOP Senator Expects Enough Support For Resolution Blocking President Trump’s Tariffs, White House Says Trump Will Veto


Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he expects to have enough support in the Senate to pass a resolution blocking President Trump’s tariffs, CNN reported.

“I would call it chicanery. I would call it dishonesty,” Paul said of Johnson’s move to tuck a provison blocking tariff resolutions into a rule. “I mean, it’s just a terrible idea that he’s actually overturning the law with a rule.”

“Congress – not the president – has the ultimate authority to decide tax law, including tariffs. It’s time for Congress to grow a spine and draw a line in the sand on this issue,” Paul previously said.
