On Saturday evening, CNN aired a live performance of George Clooney’s new Broadway show, Good Night, and Good Luck, a remake of the hit 2005 movie about journalist Edward R. Murrow. CNN’s resident media watchdog, Brian Stelter, posted an op-ed Friday afternoon that boasted of the show’s relevance in today’s media environment. Stelter, who aggressively pushed the Trump-Russia collusion narrative and described Hunter Biden’s laptop as a “classic example of the right-wing media machine,” wrote of the parallels between Murrow’s battle with McCarthyism and the modern media’s clashes with President Donald Trump.
