Ghislaine Maxwell’s family says jail conditions would violate UN standards


The jail conditions faced by Ghislaine Maxwell are so inhumane they would violate standards set by the United Nations, the family of Jeffrey Epstein’s accused madame has claimed.

“Under the United Nations Standard Minimal Rules adopted in 2015 for the treatment of prisoners – ‘The Nelson Mandela Rules’ – to which the US is a party, Ghislaine ‘has been subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment,’” an account run by Maxwell’s family posted on Twitter.

The British socialite is being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on sex-trafficking charges for allegedly procuring underage girls for the multimillionaire pedophile to abuse.
