Gen. Petraeus: A Meeting with Taliban Would Be ‘Troubling’

Former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus expressed praise after President Trump canceled upcoming negotiations with Taliban leaders at Camp David.

In an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum Monday night, Petraeus argued that it would be ‘troubling’ to hold talks with the terrorist organization. “Remember, that was where the decision was made to invade Taliban in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. As you reflect on that, certainly, again, I think the president very much made the right call,” Petraeus told MacCallum.

Petraeus served in Afghanistan from 2010-2011 as commander of U.S. and NATO forces.
