Former Republican Presidential Candidate Considers Replacing Governor Ron DeSantis


The former mayor of Miami, who ran for President in 2024, is considering running in Florida’s 2026 gubernatorial race.

Former Republican mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, is considering entering the 2026 Florida governor’s race.

During an event hosted by Axios on Thursday, Suarez was asked whether he would consider launching a campaign to replace Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Suarez responded, “I’m not saying I’m completely not considering it. I certainly have considered it.”

Suarez, however, noted it would be difficult to campaign against Rep. Byron Donalds, who has already received an endorsement from Trump to be the next governor of Florida.
