Former Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer announced he will run for governor of The Sunflower State in 2026.
Colyer, a Republican, served as governor from January 2018 to January 2019.
He lost the 2018 Republican primary to Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who then lost the general election to Democratic nominee Laura Kelly.

“I’m Jeff Colyer – Trump’s 2024 Kansas Chair – and I’m running for Governor,” Colyer said.
“As a fifth-generation Kansan, a surgeon who’s stared down life-and-death in the operating room, defeated cancer, and volunteered in war zones far from home – I’ve seen firsthand what grit and heart can accomplish. I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to lead,” he added.
