Former NFL receiver Mike Williams died on Tuesday after a freak accident on a construction site. He was 36 years old.
WIVB reported that Williams was taken off life support late last week — including the use of a ventilator — at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida, after suffering complications from the incident on August 21.
Williams was reportedly struck in the head with a steel beam while doing electrical work, but his situation took a turn for the worse after the cut on his head became infected, a friend told the news station. Williams was hospitalized at the start of the month and was eventually induced into a coma, the report said.
