Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison Senteced To 2 Years In Prison

Former CEO of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison, who helped her boyfriend Sam Bankman-Fried steal nearly $8 billion in customer funds, was sentenced to two years in prison.

Ellison, the CEO of the hedge fund Alameda Research, previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud and conspiracy.

Ellison faced a maximum of 110 years in prison but was let off lightly after testifying against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who was sentenced to 25 years for the fraud he committed that led to FTX’s collapse.
