Food stamps: 38 states are delivering SNAP benefits worth up to $1,751 June 9-15


Throughout this week, 38 states, the District of Columbia, and territories are rolling out their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to qualifying residents. 

SNAP benefits are paid to low- and no-income households in need of financial assistance to pay for groceries. Households qualify for benefits if their net monthly income is at or below 100% of the federal poverty level, and benefits typically are allotted over a 12-month period. Funds are loaded onto electronic benefit transfer cards, and funds can be used at participating stores including major chains such as Walmart and Costco.
