First State to Recognize ‘Transgender History Month’

California became the first state in the country to acknowledge ‘Transgender History Month.’

The California State Assembly voted to officially recognize August as ‘Transgender History Month,’ starting in 2024.

“I couldn’t be more proud to have introduced legislation that will designate August as the first statewide Transgender History month in the nation,” said Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco), according to FOX 40.
