Finland: State-Sponsored Study Shows Foreign-Born Migrants Hugely Overrepresented in Sex Crimes


Figures from a new state-sponsored study in Finland have revealed that foreign-born individuals are vastly overrepresented when it comes to sex crimes. 

The study, which found that foreign-born individuals – despite comprising less than seven percent of Finland’s population – accounted for nearly 38 percent of the country’s rape suspects in 2020, comes on the heels of a Swedish study which revealed that first-generation immigrants were almost three times as likely to be suspects in rape cases than native-born Swedes with Swedish parents.

In total, the study’s data – collected between 2011 and 2020 – showed that foreign-born individuals accounted for 27 percent of suspects in rape cases and 15 percent
