Federal investigators on Wednesday morning raided the Washington, DC,-area home of lawyer Victoria Toensing, who is a close associate of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a report said.
The search of Toensing’s home came around the same time investigators executed a search warrant at Giuliani’s Manhattan apartment and office, the New York Times reported.
Investigators in the Southern District of New York are probing whether Giuliani illegally lobbied on behalf of Ukrainian oligarchs, who were also helping him dig up dirt on former President Trump’s political rivals, according to the Times.
Toensing, a former federal prosecutor, had represented an oligarch under indictment in the US, whose help Giuliani had sought in his mission to find dirt on Trump’s opponents, including President Biden and his son Hunter, the report said.
