Texas Republican congressional candidate Susan Wright’s campaign has been in contact with federal law enforcement after a robocall falsely accused her of killing her husband, late-Rep. Ron Wright.
News of the robocall emerged just one day before the crowded special election to fill the seat of her late husband, who died in February after contracting coronavirus.
Wright slammed the attacks, stating that it is “illegal, immoral, and wrong.”
“There’s not a sewer too deep that some politicians won’t plumb. Imagine it: someone is attacking my late husband, the love of my life, a man who gave me such joy in life. I will not let darkness rule. I live by the light of Christ and his truth will sustain me – as it sustained me when I lost my husband,” she said in a statement to CBS.
