On Tuesday, the failed presidential candidate turned U.S. senator released a blistering statement decrying what he called the “vile, vituperative, hate-filled morass” that has come to define politics.
Romney’s statement had a familiar ring to it in that he largely laid the blame for the current toxic state of political discourse directly at the feet of Trump, a man with who he has been at war with since 2016.
