This week House Judiciary Committee Republicans revealed the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) “has created a system to track threats against school board officials and administrators” reports National Review.
The Republicans cite an internal FBI email provided to them by a whistleblower. The members accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of misleading lawmakers during his testimony before the committee when he was asked about the subject.
The email was signed by Counterterrorism Division assistant director Timothy Langan and former Criminal Division assistant director Calvin Shivers. In summary, the FBI used counterterrorism measures, as well as its division, to spy on American families and parents.
In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, the FBI denied it targeted parents:
