Fauci not ready for national lockdown unless COVID-19 gets ‘really, really bad’


The nation’s coronavirus infections may be on the rise, but Dr. Anthony Fauci said he is not ready to advocate for a national lockdown.

Fauci, on an interview to air Sunday on “60 Minutes,” said the pandemic would have to get “really, really bad” before he could back such a measure, according to a clip of the sit down released by CBS.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who is on President Trump’s coronavirus task force, said the country is “fatigued with restrictions.”
