Facebook and Instagram were apparently hit with a second wave of outages on Friday afternoon — just days after all the services went down for hours on Monday.
More than 32,000 Instagram users had reported being unable to use the app between about 2:30 and 3 p.m. on Friday, according to DownDetector. About 2,300 Facebook users also reported issues over the same period of time. WhatsApp appeared to be relatively unaffected, with just 109 reports.
Facebook did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
Friday’s reported outage came after Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all went down globally for more than six hours on Monday, wiping more than $50 million of the market capitalization of Facebook, which owns all three services.
