Allowing Vendor ‘Election Source’ to remove ‘batteries’ because ‘they aren’t needed’ will render the voting machines inoperable due to no longer being certified while also creating ‘chain of custody’ violations.
We reported on this last night.
It’s possible that the Election Source’s cause for “preventative maintenance” is nothing more than a plausible excuse to wipe the memory of the ICX machines (not with a cloth, but with the same result as the reference). The nonsensical basis detailed in the letter of removing the batteries from the Android tablets “because they aren’t needed” is laughable and ludicrous. Because they aren’t needed isn’t cause to do anything, much less mount an immediate, one-day, statewide effort. Considering the lack of cause the objective becomes clear and that is a hard-reset that will erase all memory
