Elon Musk topped the list of GOP donors during the 2024 election cycle, and he is not showing signs of slowing down as Republicans prepare for elections this year in critical state and congressional elections.
An analysis from OpenSecrets found that Musk, the Tesla mogul-turned-adviser and confidante to President Donald Trump, donated over $291 million to Republican candidates, political action committees, and outside spending groups. He led the top six GOP donors who contributed over $100 million to Republican candidates and caucuses.
The top six were Musk, banking scion Timothy Mellon, casino owner Miriam Adelson, shipping supplies billionaires Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, hedge fund CEO Kenneth Griffin, and trading firm co-founder Jeffrey Yass and his wife Janine, per the analysis.
