Drunk diner falls onto table and impales his head on a 15-inch metal rod — but miraculously survives after 10-hour surgery

A diner who had too much to drink fell on a dinner table and impaled his head on a more than 15-inch-long metal rod that pierced through his mouth at a restaurant in China.

The diner was eating with his co-workers when he stood up and slipped, falling onto a table, on which there was a long metal rod, South China Morning News reported.

The intoxicated man, named only as Aqiang, was impaled on the rod, which went through his mouth and deep into his skull, according to the report.

Chilling X-rays show how close the rod came, just 2mm away from damaging critical areas of his brain.
