Donald Trump has taken the lead over Joe Biden for the first time in NBC News polling history.
The outlet reports Joe Biden’s approval rating, 40%, has declined to the lowest level of his time as White House resident.
“The poll finds Biden behind former President Donald Trump for the first time in a hypothetical general-election matchup, although the deficit is well within the poll’s margin of error for a contest that’s still more than 11 months away,” NBC News reports.
In the poll, NBC News had Donald Trump defeating Joe Biden 46% to 44%.
“It’s the first time in more than a dozen polls we’ve seen a result like this,” MSNBC political correspondent Steve Kornacki commented.
The MSNBC analysts discussed the significant change in voters 18-34.
