Doctors remove live fish from man’s throat in Egypt


He’s off the hook.

Doctors in Egypt managed to surgically remove a live fish from a man’s throat — after he accidentally swallowed the slippery sucker while trying to hold it in his mouth.

During the fish-hap, the unnamed 40-year-old stuck the aquatic creature between his lips while trying to catch a second one by hand — but it slipped and became stuck in his windpipe, according to CTV News.

Unable to speak or fully inhale, the angler was taken to the Beni Suef Specialized Hospital, near Cairo, where medical staffers extracted the unwitting seafood on Saturday.

Video shows a doctor prying the fish, which appears to be several inches long, from the man’s mouth with one hand.

The patient was later treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
