An Oak Park, Illinois, detective was shot during an incident in the early morning hours of Black Friday.
Detective Allan Reddins was killed while on duty while responding to a call regarding an armed offender.
Firefighters responded to a call of shots fired on Friday and discovered Detective Reddins with a gunshot wound to his left side.
Reddins was transported to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
