Democrats who repeatedly said “no one is above the law” when President Donald Trump was indicted in four criminal cases have ironically criticized the indictment against former FBI Director James Comey.
On Thursday, a federal grand jury indicted Comey on one count of making false statements to Congress and one count of obstruction of justice during a congressional investigation. Both charges stem from the former FBI director’s 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the bureau’s handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.
Democrats were outraged by the latest indictment, with many claiming it poses a threat to democracy.
