A Democratic Georgia Senate candidate said he raised $1 million in less than 24 hours since his opponent, GOP Sen. David Perdue, mocked Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Jon Ossoff, who lost the high-profile 2017 special election for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District after it was vacated by former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, announced on Saturday that “we’ve raised $1M (!) since my opponent disgraced himself with bigoted mockery of Kamala’s name at yesterday’s Trump rally” and asked supporters if they could double that amount by midnight.

A day earlier, Perdue mocked Harris, derisively mispronouncing her name at President Trump’s Friday afternoon rally in Macon, Georgia.
