Jones said that she supported restructuring the police department’s budget to reallocate funding for mental health services, job training programs, and treating substance abuse. Jones said that she would reinstate the position of deputy mayor for racial equity and require the city to view decision-making and expanded economic opportunities through the lens of racial equity. Jones said that she supported social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing proper hygiene to combat COVID-19. Jones said the city must begin preparing for the next crisis to make the city more resilient.
