Cindy Crawford Said Her Father Thought Modeling Was ‘Another Name For Prostitution’

Legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford said her dad was initially skeptical of the modeling industry, thinking it was a form of “prostitution.”

The 57-year-old discussed her early days working in the industry as part of the new four-part limited docu-series, “The Super Models.” Crawford discussed being discovered in a small town in Illinois and eventually becoming an international superstar.

“I never even thought about modeling,” said Crawford, per a preview clip shared with People. 

“I didn’t even know it was a real job. I didn’t know how I would get from DeKalb, Illinois, to a magazine,” Crawford continued. “My dad really didn’t understand that modeling was a real career. He thought modeling was like another name for prostitution. So they came with me to my very first modeling appointment.”
