A dealer in Chicago is handing out free heroin — and cops say the gratis dope is connected to a series of public overdoses in the city, including three people filmed collapsing at the same time.
“They just kept dropping like flies,” local resident Phillip Moore, who saw the trio all collapse and OD together in the Windy City’s South Side, told CBS Chicago.
“It was very devastating. It was heartbreaking.”
Police believe the three who collapsed, and another person who went into shock in the same area Friday, are all tied to same man handing out free heroin.
Locals said he was not previously known in the area.
So far none of the victims have died, but the pusher could still face serious charges if he knows people are falling ill, the station’s legal analyst said.
“If these people were distributing drugs with the intent that people would be killed they could easily be charged with attempted murder,”
