Chaos strikes Sydney Airport as dozens of flights canceled due to weather

Australian travelers are facing widespread disruption after dozens of scheduled flights to and from Sydney Airport on Sunday were canceled due to high winds.

The chaos has left the plans of hundreds of travelers up in the air, with Sydney Airport’s online flight board showing a flurry of cancellations impacting Virgin Australia, Qantas and Jetstar.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, there were 33 cancelled flights that were previously scheduled to arrive at Sydney Airport, and 24 cancelled departures from the airport, along with dozens of delayed flights showing on its website.
