Twitter locked White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany out of her personal account for sharing a story from the New York Post on Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic nominee Joe Biden, she said Wednesday.
McEnany confirmed the news in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
“I’ve been locked out of my account. This is censorship!” she said.
She later criticized Twitter’s decision from her official government account, writing, “Censorship should be condemned! NOT the American way.”
In order for McEnany to regain access to her account, Twitter told her she must “remove tweets that violate our rules,” specifically referencing its rules on “hacked material,” according to a screenshot.
A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner that McEnany was locked out of her personal account.
