ChatGPT, OpenAI, Sam Altman and Microsoft are all in the news today because Microsoft now owns a $135 billion stake (27%) in OpenAI and OpenAI just converted from a non-profit to a for-profit company.
I’m not even sure how that last part is legal and in fact I think it’s probably not, but then again almost anything is legal if you have enough money, which seems to be the case here.
