California sheriff won’t impose vaccine mandate: report

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says it won’t be requiring employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine, fearing such a move would cause a significant reduction in its workforce.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva told Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” Friday that hundreds of sheriff staffers would rather lose their jobs than get the jab – adding Los Angeles already is dealing with far too many crises, including a massive homeless population, to lose more deputies.

He called a mandate requiring all Los Angeles County employees to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 1 — with exemptions only for medical and religious reasons — “politicized” and “poorly thought out.”
