California park closed due to discovery of explosive devices


Police closed DeGarmo Park in Chico, California, on Sunday due to explosive devices found on the premises. 

Park visitors evacuated when police entered to follow up on a report. Police reported finding gas cans with “suspicious” writing on them throughout the park.

A bomb squad removed all of the devices from the park and it reopened just after 12 p.m. Pacific time.

“The park has been reopened, and there is no danger to the public,” the Chico Police Department said.
