California Democrats harden stance to ‘defeat, to delay, and dilute’ Trump agenda


California Democrats amplified their efforts to resist President Donald Trump’s agenda for the country after he assumed office this week. 

Trump infuriated many Democratic lawmakers and leftist groups in the Golden State when he swiftly signed a slew of executive orders after being sworn in as the 47th president on Monday.  

The ire from American Civil Liberties Union leaders was evident during a press conference the organization held in California’s Capitol on Tuesday.

“We have been preparing for this moment. We are here to defeat, delay, and dilute Trump’s extreme agenda at every level, including the state and local level,” ACLU’s Chief Political and Advocacy Officer Deirdre Schifeling said during an anti-Trump rally at the state Capitol.
